Abstracts are submitted through the online submission system. The submitting author will first need to create a user profile to access the system. All abstracts must be formatted using the provided template. Detailed guidelines for abstract formatting and the submission process are outlined below.
Formatting instructions
The abstract template is pre-formatted. Please do not change font sizes, spacings, margins or other document properties.
Title: Italic, Greek letters or any other special characters are not acceptable; Greek letters can be used as “alpha”, “beta”, etc.
Authors: Please input names of the authors formatted as First-name Initial Last-name.
Affiliations: Department or Division, University or Institute, Street 123, City, Country. (e.g. Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics, ETH Zurich, Otto-Stern-Weg 5, Zurich, Switzerland)
Abstract text: There is no character limit for the main text. However, the overall length of the abstract document must be limited to ONE PAGE, including an (optional) figure and references.
Figure: If you wish to include a figure in your abstract, please replace the placeholder figure and caption in the template with your own. Otherwise, remove them. Please insert only files in TIFF or JPEG or PNG format. The author is allowed to insert only one figure. Make sure to use a figure with sufficiently good resolution/quality for printing. Your figure size and position might be altered in the published material.
Your abstract might be returned for formatting if it does not comply with these instructions.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM
After logging in with your user profile, you will gain access to the online abstract submission system. The submission dashboard displays all your submitted abstracts (multiple submissions are allowed) along with their status.
By selecting “New abstract”, you will be taken to a submission form. Here, you will need to fill in some information about the abstract and upload the abstract document.
Notably, you will need to enter all author names, along with their affiliations. Ensure that this author list (and author order) is identical to the abstract document! Consistency is essential for the review and publishing process. Use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ icons to add or remove authors.
You will also be asked to provide several keywords, select the main topic of your research from the available list, and choose your preferred presentation type (oral or poster).
If you encounter any technical issues during the submission process, please contact us at ecaart15@ethz.ch.
